Freedom Healthcare LLC, a Louisiana-based psychiatric hospital management company, is leads the effort to close a 24-bed psychiatric hospital in Southwest Louisiana. This acquisition allows the Freedom Behavioral Hospital Group (FBHG) to expand its presence throughout Louisiana through the strategic acquisition of Stonebridge Behavioral Health.
Effective September 1, 2025, Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Lake Charles, LLC (FBHLC), acquired Stonebridge Behavioral Hospital.
The management company of Freedom Healthcare has been contracted by FBHLC to implement standardized processes and operational procedures, streamlining operations and supporting the hospital’s upcoming expansion plans.
This acquisition introduces a Freedom (FBHG) Southern provider to Louisiana, enabling the organization to continue expanding much-needed quality services to SWLA and surrounding communities.
“I am extremely excited to get started with the great group of employees the facility already has; this is a very special place for me,” I started my psychiatric career at this very location 26 years ago when it was Calcasieu Oaks Behavioral Health. “This will be a great addition to our current portfolio,” said President and CEO Jason Reed.
This transaction will provide extra resources and opportunities for the hospital and its staff. Due to Freedom’s size, this marks an exciting new chapter for the hospital and its future, said Leslie Trahan, former Stonebridge CEO.
Freedom Behavioral Hospital Group, with each entity functioning independently, currently oversees 11 locations across three states and has plans for ongoing expansion in the near future.
